Walks to fame, nothing about it is really natural,
The top spot is claimed and they act all casual,
Is the Hollywood sign just the tower of Babel?
Industry plants while those around them handle,
The light inside shrinks to around the size of a candle.
Disrespecting fans and hating to pose for pictures.
I thought being a star was at the top of your wishes?

Good write SM. If the Tower of Babel did reach to heaven, it would need an awfully wide base, then all those storeys. How many miles was it (or: is it) to Heaven? Could they have taken the no.7 bus there instead?! lol.
Haha, or 10A lol. Cheers.
The road to fame not all it's cracked up to be. A poem that calls for reflection upon one's goals and the costs involved. Nicely done
Thank you, yes indeed.
You are most welcome
My friend, this lands clean and honest…the Babel line, the shrinking candle, the emptiness behind the posing. You cut through the illusion of celebrity with sharp precision. Obviously, not all stars are the same...but man that seems to be much of what one sees coming out of Hollywood. Cheers, Shaun! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thanks mate, means a lot.
You bet!
