LIGHTNINGS / Relámpagos

Carlos Alberto BUSTILLOS

LIGHTNINGS

Among memories, the sudden flash,
lightnings running through the body.

Moments long gone,
embers throwing sparks,
the body coming back to life.

Memories that stir
in the darkest corners;
everything inside us stirs again.

Forgotten memories.

In that bolt of lightning
that sets us alight,
those memories
rising once more

and setting
the blood
burning.

RELAMAPAGOS

Entre recuerdos, el fogonazo,
en el cuerpo los relámpagos.

Momento que han pasado,
brasas que dan chispazos,
el cuerpo vuelve a revivir.

Recuerdos que revuelven,
en los oscuros rincones,
todo se nos revuelve.

Recuerdos olvidados.

En ese relámpago
que nos enciende,
esos recuerdos
que renacen.

Y enciende
la sangre.

This is a rather haunting poem with deep feeling from awakened memories. it seems to arise out of the shadows of slumber now turned an emotional flame. Very nicely written my friend

Sometimes I get the feeling that I’m dead, like a dead Prometheus who occasionally revives forgotten memories.
Thank you so much for commenting.

You are most welcome Carlos. In this sense we may all be dead looking out into an imagined world that at times seems surreal.
