You’re not alone!

Yazz

We feel lonely even we aren’t alone,

The familiarity that we feel, now disowned,

Hidden in a shell of false hope,

Is a someone who only cries and tries to cope,

Someone who has been strong for too long,

Someone who would waste away in bed if it wasn't for life’s song,

Someone whose smile has long since faded,

The chill of the dark and the abyss related,

Sometimes they just need someone to see them,

I see you,

I see you and I know others do too,

The untethering darkness I shall condemn!

Let me be the one to tell you that you’re not alone,

You’re a shining star that just has to be grown,

It doesn’t happen over night,

Just take it easy and treat yourself right,

I see you,

I understand your pain too,

I know where you’re coming from,

But let this be a rule of thumb,

The feelings won't last long,

They might persist but you’re millions of times as strong!

Even in the darkest nights,

The faintest, most tiniest beam of light is in sight,

You’re not alone,

Not now,

Not later,

Not EVER!

Because you’re not alone,

Someone is there,

Someone who will genuinely care,

Because you are strong!

You’re not alone,

You will never be alone,

You are special and unique,

Just look in the mirror and take a peek.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is for everyone. We’ve all felt alone in life before. Like no one is there or that no one cares. Especially teenagers. I wrote this poem to tell anyone having those thoughts that they aren’t alone and that there is someone somewhere that sees them and sees their pain and struggle. You’re not alone!
