In Bethlehem’s small stable glow,
A humble man kept watch that night;
Not by blood, but love, he chose
To guard the Child of holy light.
Joseph, steady-handed, mild,
Took up a father’s sacred part—
He rocked the world’s smallest King
With borrowed lineage, bound by heart.
And so today, when candles gleam
On hearths where blended families meet,
We honor those who choose to stand,
Who guide small steps with patient feet.
For every man who freely takes
A mantle love alone can claim—
You echo Joseph’s quiet strength,
And Christmas softly speaks your name.
