Meaningless Words

mtrotter1

As I tie you to a string

I can't hear what you're saying

Because you're no longer a part of my life

The images are real

But the fantasy is not

You are nothing but the past

Reveling in some misused world

A beautiful nonsense has its flaws

Are we the last living souls to walk this earth?

The feelings that cling to old memories

The chances we take just breathing

While someone in the shadows

Listens to meaningless words

Pulsating against these tired walls

What are we meant to reveal?

No one knows the deepness that lies

Between unanswered stars.
