I wait,

from a far.

in the mean time,

looking for a connection, 

that unfortunately is subpar,

to what we had.

longing for conversations,

similar to ours,

I wait seconds, minutes, hours,

each day,

for you to message me,

but you still wish to be free.

a life together, doesn't appeal to you as it once did,

I accept your decision but struggle to rid,

you from my mind,

I wish I could rewind,

and change all of this?

I reminisce, 

of what we were,

and what we could have been,

I only ever wanted to been seen,

by you,

did you at one point want that too?

if we rewound,

would you still have doubts?

would you romanticise a life without,

the pain of me?

would you struggle to remove the longing to be free?

in what ways could I change,

or adapt to be the person you want?

or is just my essence that haunts,

lingers and prevents you from the living the life,

you want to live,

you do not know what I would give,

to make sense in your world,

I would give up myself,

If you said the word,

I know it may sound absurd,

but its how I feel,

And I'm struggling to deal,

With the cards you dealt,

But know that deep down the love, the care, the need, the desire I felt,

Is still there,

Hiding in despair,

I'm not actually waiting for you to rebirth me,

I just wanted recognition of the time I spent with thee.
