Gentle Light

Evie Baker

A careful yet genuine laugh

A loving whisper near my bedside

Words I'll always cherish

Your last message for me

I smile as you hold my hand

A calming soul

Guiding me forward

I'm safe to move on now

The noise around me fades

I close my eyes

Your gentle presence staying with me

I grasp onto the key

And open the door

Beyond the entryway, I see it

The light

Arriving, finally

The flying ship come to take me home

Home to the sky

I let it carry me

Hold me in its arms

As you so caringly did

Thank you

Now I'm ready

Ready to move on

I lift a hand, and turn the well-worn page

Ready to begin the next chapter

To transcend my mind

To find peace

Find love

Light

A beautiful message sent in most poetic form. Indeed turn loose of those things that hold you back and bound and embrace those that free you.
