Remember the Wiz?
The spells wove
In an arachnid web
Both tender and
Wickedly wonderful?
Remember the presence—
Now long gone—
Almost as if forgotten.
But almost...
Well, you know the saying,
And he shall never
Be lost to us
Who remain
Forever indebted
To his loving magic
Only one question,
Haunting as it may be,
Where did our Tony go—
His return,
Shall ever we see?

Well-written, Tristan. Your poem reflects on the memory and impact of a beloved figure, likely a mentor or artist, who has passed away. It conveys a sense of loss and nostalgia while also expressing gratitude for the magic and influence this person brought into the lives of those who remain.
Indeed, Tony (Tony36) was deeply beloved on MyPoeticSide. His last poem was on August 9. He was remarkably present on everyoneβs work β perhaps the most consistently present of all...and in that way became a quiet mentor to us all in simply showing up. I know he had a great deal going on health wise too, which always impressed me. A good man and a true community presence. His absence is felt, and I truly hope he is well. Thank you so much, my dearest friend, for your thoughtful analysis and for your own wonderful presence here as well. π―οΈπβ¨π
Yeah, where is Tony? Itβs been a long whileππ»ποΈ
Right?!?! It has been. Since August. It's been weighing on my heart. Thanks for wondering with me, my friend. π―οΈπβ¨π
Our days feel incomplete when our βregularsβ donβt make their appearance, and that at least occasionally πππ»
I too have wondered where he has gone, and this is a wonderful tribute to his past presence very nicely done Tristan
Yes. He was such a presence on here and following his last poem at the beginning of August he has not returned. It\'s been weighing on me and felt I would write him a little tribute. I am glad that it delivered my friend and, wherever Tony is, I hope feels how loved and missed he is. Thanks so much, Soren! π―οΈπβ¨π
I hope so too. I feel a loss with each that goes. I I did with LB Mek until I chased him down, when others have gone as well. You are most welcome Tristan
Indeed. Yes. I feel that same loss. Makes us human. Glad to share in that humanity with you, my friend. We desperately need more of it in this world. To Tony and the others we miss! π€πΉ
Thank you T. I dunno about return, but we know someone (& Co) who never leave. That pesky glugger! lol. That's weighing on us too - like a ton of sewage load we wish we didn't have! heehee.
Oh, we do! I certainly THEY'RE not the reason! π€£ It can get so glug around glug that all one glugs is glugging, you glug glug I glug? π
Oh lol. It's Old McPopeye again. 'With a glug glug here...there...everywhere a glug glug'. Everywhere? Oh no! lol.
Indeed missed .. like so many others who once graced these pages .. gone but not forgotten & in many cases, their work lives on .. Congratulations & good luck with that anthology Tristan, I shall try to lay my hands on a copy .. Neville
Yes! Gone, but not forgotten. Thank you for sharing in this with me, Neville. Thank you so much, my friend! It is exciting and I am super grateful! Much appreciated!!! ππ€π₯π
I hope where ever he is, he is well my best regards to you both, big hugs dearest Tristan, a wonderful touch of compassion π€
Thank you, dearest Teddy. Yeah, I hope wherever he is that he is doing well. Thank you for sharing that space with my, my dear friend. π€ππ€π₯π
Sounds like a great guy, and one that can give good pointers to your poem.
Hopefully doing well.
Indeed he is. He was a wealth of presence and encouragement in my experience. A wonderful guy indeed. And, indeed, I hope he is doing well. Thank you so much, Paul. Much appreciated, my friend. ππ€π₯π
I do miss his poems a lot! What a wonderful expression of our love for him!
I know, me too! Thank you, my dear friend! ππ€π₯π
aa truly compassionate piece of verse for a missing friend, who I hope is doing good, and just taking a small break...hope to see him back soon...
Same. That is what I am hoping too. Thank you so much, Safina!
