Dreams and Wishes

Ezekiel Olayemi

Life and awareness,

what we are born into,

within it, we learn to dream.

Many dreams, many wishes,

wide as the stars in the sky,

yet most never shine,

never dress the night with beauty,

never cast a light all can see.

Time never cared,

a friend who dines with us,

laughs beside us,

but never lifts a hand to help.

And so we like the stars live our lives but if we do not shine we go unnoticed and of little value. Cast our light so others may see and enjoy it seems the message of this beautiful poem

Dreams keep you going, granted most of them won't come true, but it only needs just the one to keep you wishing.
Sometimes the hand of help is your own.
