My mood swung

Maplespal

I today felt my mood swing and sharply fall,
old music playing memories and their recall.
Bound myself in my own cell forced to watch,
flicking lights, skipping every scratched notch.
Depression sat itself in for the show,
holding the keys, tapping them to let me know.
I've rattled the cage trying to brake its hold,
frantically a way back I'm trying to mold.
I want to swing my mood and raise my brow,
but I'm feeling rather down for now.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Sometimes you can't stop the fall, but as long as you recognize what is happening you can climb back up. It just takes a long time some of those times.
