Remembrance

applecherry

Will the longing pass?

I mention you in passing,

Not in spite,

Or sadness,

But in genuine thoughtfulness,

And I suppose thoughtlessness,

I mention your name,

In things we used to do,

Or things that reminder me of you

I think I speak of you,

Like a loved one who passed,

Only care and missing,

I don't speak of you,

to make you return,

Or for the sake of it,

To bring up your name,

I just miss you,

I wonder if they'll be a day when your name doesn't cross my mind,

Is this a good day?

Will I celebrate in joy once I realise and remember?

Or will it be a sad reminder,

Of what I've lost,

Or a sad reminder,

That maybe I don't miss what I've lost,

As I once did,

But for now,

I miss you,
