Interim

Sail

I hold my breath

This is not a way to live

Just when I find a little room

Then it’s gone

Then I wait

Drop the other shoe

Seeing yet still hoping

Nothing is changing

I’m tired of waiting

There is anticipation and anxiousness in this poem that feels like any moment the trap will spring. A good write with a sense of tension.

Thanks so much! That’s exactly what I was going for- the emotional vulnerability and grief of hanging in suspension
