about this time every year

Jon Nakapalau

i start thinking about the life
                                                                                                we never had
children coming home for the holidays
maybe even grandchildren
friends stopping by
ready to start a new year
perhaps planning a trip
to italy or spain
funny how one thing
out of place
can change it all.

So true it is and how one small thing leads to another and another like a domino that falls. Well written

It's like the Poem by Frost: 'The Road less Taken.'
