way into warmth

arqios

Stand before the mirror
and let a laugh escape—
even a small one.

Winter softens under such mischief,

as if the room brightens
simply because you dared
to play your way into warmth.

I heard some great advice from an Indian sage - the moment you become deadly serious, your brain freezes!

Great advice, it is indeed! Thanks for sharing, Mutley. Most appreciated πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™πŸ»

We create our own joy, manufacturing our illusions of happiness and comfort. But far better to think ourselves rich in our poverty than poor in our wealth. A lovely write Cryptic and a fave

Being impoverished in our wealth is the saddest and poorest we could ever be. Thanks so much for your visit and kind words, SorenπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™πŸ»

Your poem explores themes of self-acceptance, the impact of laughter on one's mood, and the ability of joy to counteract negativity.

This is quiet encouragement done rightβ€”small human gestures carrying real power. The image of winter softening feels earned, not forced, and the warmth arrives naturally through play rather than insistence.
