Elegy of Rob and Michele Reiner

Matthew R. Callies

In Brentwood's quiet shade, where dreams took flight,
A home that held the light of love and art,
Now echoes with the silence of the night—
Two souls departed, torn from life's warm heart.

Rob, the storyteller, bold and kind,
Who wove romance in When Harry Met Sally,
Brought princess brides and truths we couldn't find,
In courts of honor, standing firm and tally.

Michele by his side, through years of grace,
A partner in creation, light, and fight,
Together built a legacy's embrace,
For justice, laughter, and the screen's delight.

Yet shadows fell, a family's deepest pain,
A son's tormented path, in darkness lost,
Brought tragedy no words can fully name—
A bond unbreakable, now forever crossed.

We mourn the loss of voices strong and true,
Whose films and hearts inspired generations through.
Rest now in peace, dear Rob and Michele—
Your stories live, eternal, bright, and real.

Unaware of the loss this seems a tribute to persons departed that left us with a legacy some of the films I have seen. Well worded and nicely written it sends its message

    Great sentiment to the couple.
Why Trump stamped all over them beggars belief.
When Harry met Sally, makes Rob, eternal.
