December’s Lament

Cam

December was once the most wonderful month,

When snow kissed the earth on Christmas morn.

Now the sky stays empty,

And so do our hearts.

Gifts are expected,

Grace is not.

Humility has gone missing,

Kindness is never enough.

Entitlement grows louder,

Nothing ever satisfies.

And we wonder why families fracture,

Why love turns into sides.

We forget the truth of Christmas—

Not ribbons, not lights, not praise

But a child born in a manger,

A mother holding faith in her hands.

Jesus, born for the broken.

A life given, a sacrifice made,

Dying for our sins

And still we are ungrateful.

Dishonest.

Ugly in spirit.

Never content.

So be humble.

Be kind.

Be loving, be caring.

Pray with those you love,

And hold them close

Before the season passes,

And the truth is lost again

A wonderful Christmas message that needs to be heard. True in what it says it opens the door for a more meaningful holiday. Lovely
