Trying for Trust

NinjaGirl

I was shocked

that you broke my vase

Even though I gave it over

To you with a hammer.

Indeed

I set you up

With opportunities

to betray me

And was somehow

still shocked when you did so.

Wow, NinjaGirl, a powerful poem, well said. The poem "Trying for Trust" explores themes of betrayal, vulnerability, and the complexities of trust in relationships. The poet reflects on their own role in fostering an environment where betrayal could occur, revealing the paradox of being shocked by someone's disloyalty despite having offered them opportunities to cause harm.

Yes, I think it's less of offering them opportunities and more of trusting them enough to let them know my weaknesses.

Where would we be if we didn’t? I feel that pain though!
