Pale Moon

Megan Blaney

I want to believe in you.

But I fall
and you’re not there.

I cry
and nothing answers.

I bleed
and nothing heals.

Each time,
I lose faith.

I call your name.
Silence.

So I wonder
if I’ve been speaking
to nothing at all.

Just me,
yelling at the moon,
soaking a pillow,
hurting
alone.

We often take no response as not being heard when in fact it is a response. A most interesting write and one that many can identify with. Well done

Well written, the poem "Pale Moon" explores themes of loneliness, disillusionment, and the search for solace in the face of despair. The poet grapples with feelings of abandonment and questions the validity of their emotional connection to the moon, which symbolizes hope and guidance.
