Anxiety

Cam

Anxiously waiting,

time slipping through my hands.

What do I do

when courage feels heavier than fear,

and I’m still seeking my family’s approval?

Do I rip off the bandages,

let the sting rush in—

what once was a wound

has grown into something deeper,

something alive beneath my skin.

I’m tired of hiding.

No more half-truths,

no more holding my breath.

I’ll pray,

release what I can’t control,

and let it be.

    Here in this poem lies a secret about to be unveiled and whether it is sexuality, pregnancy, a past wound kept secret it is about to out. Nicely written.
