Mama mia

poetaldo

In the quiet moments I find my heart
Counting the stars where the stillness starts
Whispers of worries like clouds in the sky
Fading away as the night drifts by
Will the dawn bring peace I seek
Will the light make shadows weak
Mama Mia hold me close tonight
Guide me through this endless fight
A gentle voice that keeps me alive
Mama Mia tell me I'll survive
The moonlight dances on the empty street
Each step I take feels bittersweet
Hope’s a bird that’s learning to fly
It trembles but reaches for the sky
Mama Mia hold me close tonight
Guide me through this endless fight
A gentle voice that keeps me alive
Mama Mia tell me I'll survive
Life’s a wave it ebbs and flows
Sometimes it crashes sometimes it glows
But in your arms I feel the tide
Steady and strong where fears subside

The repeated phrase Mama mia is both comforting and frightening and is a glue that holds the poem together. Nicely done
