My Mind

Job Welime

I don’t need you to be my enemy,

my mind already has that covered.

It replays my mistakes like a favorite song,

turns silence into accusations,

and hope into something fragile.

So if you’re tired of me,

say it gently.

If you’re unsure,

don’t sharpen your words.

Because I am already fighting thoughts

that know my weakest places,

already carrying battles

you’ll never see.

I don’t need another war.

I just need peace,

even if it’s temporary,

even if it’s quiet,

even if it’s just for tonight.

Sounds like a truce rather than peace. A lovely write
