When an author claimed
"They mortally hate
Teachings that go against
The Doctrine of Unloading Precious Cargo"
I thought he was
Exaggerating
I've been underestimating
The strength of the resistance
To a doorway into summer
Days are bathed
In golden light
Up the central
Nervous system
Footnote: The retainer relayed his disappointment to his lord, Ieyasu, at his proposal of a duel with one of the proponents of The Doctrine of Unloading Precious Cargo being rejected.
Ieyasu replied, "Never mind all that. The priest just told me of a dream he had last night. He said that in the dream he saw this dynasty lasting for over 250 years. Peace will reign throughout the land, and prosperity will visit more than just a few. Arts and crafts will flourish, and many masters will appear. Some of them, after some "black ships" have appeared, will even take the Dharma to a land called "America" where it will be accepted by many. There was more....Ah, yes. He told me about a martial art called "boxing" where an "Ali"(?) would tell people with ears to listen about not wasting precious cargo."

The enlightenment of the footnote was most helpful. A poem that's meaning unravels and it unfolds. Lovely
It was fun to try a different approach with the footnote!
Mutley, this reads as a meditation on transmission across time and culture. Doctrine, resistance, peace, and embodiment all braid together, suggesting that “precious cargo” is wisdom carried through bodies, eras, and unexpected vessels. The footnote widens the lens without breaking the spell. Love it.🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Yes, wisdom is a part of the "precious cargo." Another part is the power that none of us would be here without! Thanks for your thoughtful comments.
Thanks for this clever reminder that true mastery isn't found in a duel, but in the "golden light" of a nervous system finally set free 🕊️🙏🏻
"A nervous system finally set free." Love it!
🤩Glad of it🤠
