Wildflowers

Katie B.

              Wild Flowers

She grows as free as wildflowers

And the wind that blows open

the screen door

takes her away

The burdens she buried

The freedom she forged

A spirit unbroken

Unruly, unspoken

Left black and blue

To the hills she knew

Her fortitude spreads the seas

Sorrow derailed

A car and gas

No lover

No past

Sings at Paradise Inn

Whispered lace

Pure priceless face

Longing for life to begin

A sense of wild beauty and freedom of the wind. A lovely poem of open but lonely nature. Well done Happy holidays
