Shepherd's Hymn

JPW

Our days are minded on our herd,
Lo — angels upward thence!
Our gaze to Bethlehem now stirred,
And herded by Faith hence!

Surge to the House of Bread hither!
Strive with thy hooves thither!
Brave the wear and tear of thy soul!
Push on to thine only goal!

Our body outweared; our heart still mirth;
Our soul is fed with rest...
Present fore our eyes to be blest:
Our Shepherd’s lowly birth!

Bless every eve and every morn,
Praise Him that just been born.
Jesus dyed our fleece when forsworn;
Amen, we’re now reborn!
