    The metaphor shows disdain for the state one is in and in fact for who one is and askes to be consumed. I have images of monks that set themself afire in protest and the commitment to do such is stunning. I have burnt before and it is not a pleasant prospect but one of pain consumed and cleansed by fire. Well written being far deeper that the initial appearance
