The Moon and I

Violet_Writes

The moon and I talked again.
We stayed up together until he had to go,
And I was left feeling alone.

But I told him a secret—one he would never forget.
And he told me one back, just as important.

If you want to know, I’m sorry, I can’t tell.
But when I’m gone from this earth, sitting next to him,
And you find yourself in the same position,
Maybe he will tell you what I told him.

And when you join us in the sky,
I will tell you what he told me.

You just need to be closer to hear our whispering.
And when you’re close enough to me,
That’s when, darling—
That’s when I will tell you what the moon told me.

I love this poem that reads as a song. I can almost hear it being sung. Very nice
