"It's Okay to Love Yourself"

"It's Okay to Love Yourself"

It's okay to cup your face in your hands
and whisper, You’re enough,
to mean it like spring means blossoms—
inevitable, tender, sure.

It's okay to stand before the mirror
not to fix, but to thank—
for the legs that carried you through storms,
for the eyes that have wept and witnessed,
for the breath that still rises, quiet and constant,
like a tide returning home.

It's okay to forgive the stumbles,
the words you wished unsaid,
the days you barely faced the light.
You were doing your best with a heart
that had never done this before.

Love yourself not because you’re perfect,
but because you’re alive—
a mosaic of scars and laughter,
of courage you didn’t know you had,
of love you’ve given and forgotten.

It's okay to rest.
To say no without guilt.
To eat the cake. To close the book.
To choose yourself,
not as an act of pride,
but as an act of peace.

You are not a project to be completed.
You are a person to be honored.
A story still unfolding,
verse by fragile, beautiful verse.

So let your hands be gentle
when they hold your truth.
Let your voice be kind
when it speaks your name.

It’s not just okay to love yourself—
it’s essential.
Like water. Like light.
Like breathing in,
and breathing out,
and choosing, again and again,
to stay.
