PerditaRose

I have a simple mind.

I cannot see underneath

because I can't pull back the corners,

Or read between the lines.

To those of you whom I've misinterpreted, I apologize.

It wasn't done purposely.

It's just that I don't get it.

I used to think that I could understand complexity.

If that was ever the case, it isn't now.

I've run up against a wall

that I'm too weak to scale.

It makes me wonder.

Am I just too old,

Or too stupid?

The same thing happened in math,

When I was young.

Yet I majored in it.

Isn't that funny,

And pathetic,

And absurd;

Or do I just lack

Imagination?

I used to play pretend.
