Speaking to God

Kenneth D. Reeves

God you're amazing

You give me strength

Just sitting here thinking

Where did my life go

All along it was you I should've

Been chasing, not the drugs

Or the women, down this road

I've been driven, but straight

To you, no fork in the road,

My path never bending

I've thought at times,

How could you do this to all of your children

Never again will I second guess,

Anything you do

-Your intentions-

I understand now

It's all for the best.

All those Trials and Tribulations,

It’s setting up the foundation,

Just a test of our faith.

I get the message,

Now time for change

Escape this feeling of fate,

Just a dark thought in my mind

believing there was no other way

but you showed me how to grind,

Count it as a blessing,

One day at a time

rise above and shine,

Side by Side

Ill walk this path with you

Now until the end of time.

You are my Savior

I am your servant,

You are forever

And this time on Earth

is but a Moment.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Wrote this for anyone questioning their joy and peace. If life is beating you down or giving you everything you’d hoped for, just remember that either way; it may be hard but always be thankful and have the heart enough to give a sh*t about how this earth is molded because the world needs some change and it’s people need to be that change. By our actions and our words. We all need eachother for the betterment of humanity. Who am I for you to believe and what do I know, but I do know a wise man once said, “When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.”; and our stories are being unfolded right before our very eyes so let’s all be The example and mold it into something extraordinary. Then ya never know we might just change the world.
