Dead, alive. A smile so bright. But no trace of a soul in those deep brown eyes. A hidden place, a road less traveled. Paved with silent tears as opposed to gravel. She hurts, she aches, you can’t see it on her face. Where joy once was, misery has taken its place. She's quiet, she nods, wasn't she loud before? Nothing to say or something not to be ignored? Lacy black bows and clear framed glasses. Could this be the death of a phoenix before its rise from the ashes? Before decisions are made she holds the outcome. Yet she watches the trainwreck and lets the ocean of self-doubt come. Her truths mix with lies and her confidence dies. She shrinks to the side, afraid to speak, and won't dare to cry. Eyes closed, hands tied, no escape from this life. No friend in this fire. No twin flame for this desire. Longing to be loved but knowing she’s too broken. Wishing to rewrite a narrative that's already been spoken. She wants to change because there has to be something she’s done wrong. But misery’s favorite company is insecurity, am i wrong? pulled from the one part of her that's whole, heart left empty, filled with holes. There’s nothing left here, not for her. So why stay when all she loves will burn. Letting go and letting the pain wash over. To darkness she succumbs, her life now over.
