The year began strange with exams I couldn’t win,
Dreams of college slipping before they’d begin.
A three-year love ended, trust torn apart,
Another quiet failure, heavy on the heart.
College came, but effort stayed behind,
First exams passed without focus or mind.
Basketball followed, my chosen fight,
I showed up with hope, but missed my stride.
Yet somewhere between the losses and doubt,
Something better slowly stepped out.
I met a woman, kind and true,
Maybe not love, but a real friend too.
Then there’s her, somewhere in between it all,
No promises made, no rise, no fall.
She doesn’t owe me love, that’s clear,
But she chose to stay-and that’s enough here.
