The Night That Would Not Sleep

Matthew R. Callies

Beneath a swirling, restless sky,
Where dreams and darkness intertwine,
Van Gogh’s brush in midnight’s eye,
Paints whispers of a divine design.

Cypress trees like silent guards,
Stand watch beneath celestial dance,
Stars ablaze with ancient sparks,
In a night that beckons, calls, enchants.

A turbulent, luminous sea,
Of swirling hopes and silent fears,
Reveals the soul’s deep mystery—
A universe that calms, or tears.

In every stroke, a beating heart,
A universe in restless flight,
Starry night, a work of art,
Eternal, infinite light.

A beautiful tribute to a beautiful work of art nicely worded in poetic form.

I love this, it feels like it was written from your bed with a tea besides you, very cosy but deep
