Kryptonite

mtrotter1

Somehow the sky is always falling

I am my own silent epidemic

For there's always a new world somewhere

Behold a heart that never sleeps

And the parade feels heavy

Like a raging tide

Crashing down upon men

And there's the kryptonite

Falling upon death

I can hear the revelry

I can feel the tears

All I want to know is-

Where is the sovereignty?

For the ashes are so deep

I can't complain

Let me love you silently

As my tears begin to crawl

And I never give in

To what is false

I shall wave the white flag once again.
