Deep below the caverns take sharp curves,
hiding in the darkness the shadows preserved.
Waiting in silence for unnatural lights,
to give freedom and bring back to sight.
Past presence hidden, frozen in time,
downward the direction one must climb.
Squeeze through what used to be wide,
forgotten history and your eyes collide.

Spelunking a dangerous sport. Been in caves before and without light so easy to fall or get lost. Same as in one's mind. A lovely write
Nicely worded. Your poem aims to evoke a sense of wonder and reflection on the hidden aspects of existence, encouraging readers to confront the darkness in their own lives and histories in search of understanding and clarity.
