Ode to Christmas

Neilton

Bells are ringing

Signalling Christmas time

Is finally beginning

Ding, dong,ding,dong

"Cheer up,world

Our Lord is born

One cold night

For the first time

To bring light to life

To bring us joy

And fill our void"

Christmas carols

Everyone's singing

Voices heard

through the ceiling

Kids running freely

Where you find happiness

Oh! Such warmth!

Oh ! Such kindness!

 We stop to hear

To hear jingle bells

And see the sleigh riding

Across the earth

The melodies that are dear

Awake childhood magic

We thought had disappeared

We feel it now near

So near yet so distant

Lost into the deepest

Most wonderful Christmas

Suddenly I spy

with my little excited eye

Family gatherings on Christmas day

Smell of fresh baked cake

Wreaths on doors

Waissiiling and toasts

Grandma cooking for all

Grandpa sharing stories of old

Happy smiles intertwine

We share wishes and we dine

Warmth and Christmas songs

Happiness now echoes

In every home

Bells are ringing

Signaling Christmas time

Is finally beginning

We travel to the past

To revive Christmas larks

Old and young

To hear whispers of love

And feel Christmas spirit

In our heart

A most seasonal poem in most north western tradition where winter takes it hold and tradition of Christmas is strongly entrenched. Well done
