A toast to 2025
It would have been a basket of fruit given to a joyous nursery mother,
But instead, it became that box handed to a grieving nursery mother.
A child was lost—
But not the mother.
A child born of hard work and grace…
Was lost.
Even when birthed in pain,
It was lost.
But the toast goes to the mother—
Who stayed strong like a lion,
Even after the child was gone.
It goes to the mother who still believes
There’s room to bear forth another child.
And with hope that this time,
It will be good news.
So therefore,
Join me
As I raise a toast to the mother
Who lost a child,
But did not lose her soul.
To the mother who did not let the lost child
Take her with it.
Cheers—
To a mother of hope,
Who fought for tomorrow,
Even in the face of loss.
