New Year (2026)

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

I don't really celebrate the New Year,

No longer guzzling down a cold beer,

Old stuff is reoccurring, that's clear,

2026 and it's still very cold outside,

What will it take to finally turn the tide?

January 1st but I'm thinking they lied.

April was the start of another annual,

Deception all over, who wrote that manual?

Time is burning out fast like a Roman candle.

I love your tercets and rhyme in this poem. A different type of new year greeting. A fave
