witnessing each
cadence within snow
feline flickering opal
a pantomime begins
born into purpose
fallen from the lap
aurora borealis
sings synched light
dawn bore a white cloth
in this burning yielding
a roe deer cries
into the pyric sun
I have seen
galloping Valkyries
among the withered wind
once twice thrice
their hair as fire
speaking old tongues
of ice

A wonderful mythical poem that is so well worded and imaged. Nicely done Happy New Year
Thank you Soren and a Happy New Year to you as well!
You are most welcome
Well done, Mourgana! That image of feline flickering opal caught me immediately. Itβs precise and luminous, setting the tone before the myth even arrives. A beautiful, confident opening and a fantastic poem, as always! Happy New Year and good to see you post again. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
