The Love

Hey!

Notice of absence from Hey!
Im back

The world spins 'round, a crowded place,
With hearts that search for a loving space.
So many wander, lost and blind,
Hoping that true love they will find.

Some settle down, with less than best,
A quiet life, put to the test.
Some give their hearts, again and then,
And never find where they fit in.

I used to think that was my fate,
Just wander 'round, and learn to wait.
A smile, a touch, a fleeting glance,
Never quite a hopeful dance.

Then you appeared, a gentle light,
Shining so warm, and oh, so bright.
Suddenly, the search was done,
Like rising to the morning sun.

Before you, I would bend and sway,
To fit the mold, come what may.
A little smaller, a little less,
To earn a moment of caress.

But with you now, I stand up tall,
I don't have to pretend at all.
You love the real, the messy me,
And set my spirit truly free.

For you, my love, I give my heart,
Right from the very start.
The missing piece, the perfect fit,
The love I knew, but hadn't met.

From the sight of your eyes,
Your goddamn beautiful green center fading out into blue eyes.
To the scent of yourself,
The scent that I smell on all of your hoodies that I have, that remind me im safe.

The way that I can just go to your house, no questions asked,
The way we can be ourselves nerding out on anything we do.
Like DnD and playing in the snow,
Kissing in the rain.

No matter what we are still the same,
Like you chasing my sister outside in the snow just to whack her in the back with snow.
And her chasing you back nearly fallin but you caught her,
Or simply me dancing and playing like im a little kid.

No matter,
The love is what you look for.
Yes it may take a while,
But when you have it.

Dont be afraid to embrace it and be yourself,
Because its not love if you cant.
