Tune: St Denio
('Immortal, invisible, God only wise')
Colossians 1 v.9-14
********
A prayer and desire for you that God may fill
You with the knowledge of His will each day still
In all wisdom and spiritual resources
With understanding given from Him to us
That we might live worthy of the Lord unto
All pleasing, being fruitful, each one, e'en you
In every good work, and increasing therein
In the knowledge of God in all you begin
Strengthened with all might, be it according to
His glorious power, he shall you renew
Unto all patience and all longsuffering
With joyfulness, through all life in everything
Giving thanks unto God the Father, for He
Has qualified us to partake in Him, see
Having inheritance in Him, share with saints
In the light, He saved us from vain worldly taints
He has saved us from the power of darkness
And has transferred us into the kingdom, yes
Of His dear Son, in whom we have redemption
Through His blood, forgiveness of sins for each one

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 11.11.11.11. A prayer of St Paul. At times we may be very general, or vague, in prayers. Here's one example of what can pray for others and for ourselves.

A poem, a hymn, a credo all in one. Nicely done Orchi it seems very Christian indeed and has tinges of the Catholic to it my friend. Lovely
Thank you SB. Hopefully Catholic meaning Universal, not Roman Catholic - argh! Don't know what they get up to in the Vatican, etc.
Most welcome my friend
Nicely worded.
Thank you F.
You're so welcome.
A prayer of many prayers enshrined in hymn 🙏🏻🕊️
Thank you A.
Welcome O
Great hymn-poem, Orchi! But good thing I didn't just look at the title...or I might of thought it was you desperately and publicly pleading for the glugging to stop! I wouldn't blame the desperation...they really don't know how to quit! 🤣
Thank you A.
Yes - to gluggers it falls on deaf ears, despite possibly incessant pleas! lol.
Deaf ears is one way to put it. As for other ways...don't answer that! LOL!
Thank you T. lol.
A profoundly religious & spiritual poem...I really enjoyed reading it.
Thank you D. St Paul helps us if we're stuck on prayers sometimes - what to pray for? Hmmm.
