Something Between Knowing and Being

The pleasure of hearing the water’s murmur

is the felt sense of meaning

in the riverbed;

the sound comes,

changes,

returns,

fades away,

yet its pleasure,

like ivy,

twines around imagination,

crumples concepts,

flows with the water,

follows meaning alive,

and without calling others

to mutual judgment,

in the moment

feels

tension and release.

 

چیزی میان دانستن و بودن

 

لذت شنودنِ زمزمه‌ آب
حاصلِ احساس معناست
در بسترِ رود؛
،صدا می‌آید
،دگرگون می‌شود
،بازمی‌گردد
،محو می‌شود
اما لذتِ آن
چون پیچک
،به تخیل می‌پیچد
،مفاهیم را مچاله می‌کند
،با آب جاری می‌شود
،معنا را زنده دنبال می‌کند
و بی‌آنکه دیگران را
،به هم‌داوری فرا خواند
در لحظه
تنش و رهایی را
.حس می‌کند

    Nature has many lessons to teach and this poem speaks of some of them. It is nicely worded in imagery and metaphor where the very sound of the water is a message and a calming agent. A fave
