Would You Still?

Simran_

Would you love me despite all my insecurities,
for all the times I reach for validation?

For every imperfect choice,
the smudged mascara,
the ruined lipstick,
the unmatched socks,
the weirdest clothes,
the goofiest smiles,
the bursts of overexcitement,
the tears that streak it all,

for the parts of me I keep silent
because words fail me,
hoping you will hear my silence,
the moments I don’t feel like myself,
The times i don't feel pretty
or I'm messed up in my head
will your heart give me a shed
from all the people who stand against me,
when you would stand against the world for me.

Would you love me through the wrinkles,
enough to see the lines as a map of where I’ve been?

This poem questions the strength of another's love. Seeing deficits that they would find hard to love they question if another could. Nicely written
