Restoration Rejoicing

Tune: Ode to Joy

('Joyful, joyful, we adore thee')

Joel 2 v.21-27

*********

Fear not, O land, be glad, rejoice

The Lord has made you His choice

He will do great things, do not fear

You beasts of the field rest here

For pastures of the wilderness

Do spring, I the Lord them bless

For the tree bears her fruit, fig tree

And the vine shall fruitful be

Be glad then, children of Zion

Rejoice in your Lord God then

For He has given to you rains

To water valleys, hills, plains

Threshing floors shall be full of wheat

Vats flow with wine, oil, complete

And the Lord will to you restore

Years locusts have eaten sure

And you shall eat in plenty, be

Satisfied, praise the Lord, He

You God, that has dealt wondrously

With you, you shall never be

Ashamed, and you shall know that I

Am in midst of Israel, nigh

And that I am the Lord your God

Bring you blessings like a flood

Wow Orchi I don't know about the locust thing I have tasted grasshopper but locust goes too far the legs have to be removed like stems from a cherry and the head is a bit mushy while the wings stick in one's throat. All kidding aside nicely done my friend well imaged and written

Your poem addresses themes of agricultural abundance, divine favor, and the joy of the community in response to God's restoration. It invokes agricultural imagery to symbolize spiritual and material prosperity, portraying a vision of renewal and celebration.

Orchi, this is praise rooted in memory and hope together. You honor the text while letting it sing forward, reminding the listener that renewal follows scarcity. A beautiful, faithful rendering. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Thank you T. I can't answer the P restored question. It's in the category 'don't answer that!' But there's no scarcity for him. No scarcity of what? Again, don't answer that! lol.

LOL! Is that the category they always exist in? Why? Wait...don't answer that!

              • orchidee

Joy in restoration! Still can’t believe it’s a national anthem. (Aside) πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™πŸ»
