Father

A presence that sometimes goes unseen,
yet is rooted deep within the heart of the heart.
The warmth of his support and trust
is the lantern of life.

 

From rough paths
he makes a mirror.

 

In moments of longing,
a climbing jasmine,
the background sound of solitude.
In defeat, a flag of hope;
in despair,
the bright color of victory.

 

My sun and my shade,
thank you for
what you did
and what you did not.

 

An ever-flowing spring of love and kindness,
my meaning, my concept, my purpose.
I found no word worthy enough,
so
with every breath I take,
with all my cells,
I love you
and
I honor you.

 

پدر

 

حضوری که گاهی به چشم نمی‌آید
اما در دلِ دل ریشه دارد
گرمای اتکا و اعتمادش
فانوسِ زندگی است

 

از ناهمواری‌ها
آینه می‌سازد

 

در دلتنگی‌ها
،یاسِ رونده
صدای پس‌زمینۀ تنهایی
در شکست، پرچمِ امید
،در ناامیدی
رنگِ روشنِ پیروزی

 

آفتاب و سایۀ من
سپاس برای
آنچه کردی
و آنچه نکردی

 

چشمۀ جوشانِ مهر و محبت
معنا و مفهوم و منظورِ من
واژه‌ای شایسته نیافتم
پس
با تمامِ نفس‌هایم
با همۀ سلول‌هایم
دوستت دارم
و تو را
می‌ستایم
