A love forever unrequited

3nd3r_Dr4g0nt

I lay in my bed,

My mind drifts to you

You're in my head,

Am I in yours too?

You're my best friend.

I don't want to ruin this.

This crush isn't something I'd recommend.

I want to throw my feelings into the abyss.

If you knew, I'd lose you.

You're not someone I want to miss.

If I told you, no doubt we'd be through.

That's not worth it for the chance of a kiss.

If you were to read this, would you know it's about you?

Or would you be oblivious to the truth?

Whatever the answer I do not care,

I'd rather you be blissfully unaware.

this feeling is so hard to process because it's both intense and swept under the rug 🙂 been there, felt it entirely, and your poem sums it up very well. thank you for sharing!

The struggle between friendship and passion and the decision that friendship is worth more. A wise but difficult decision. Well written
