Trying To Be Good (Part.2)

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Trying to be good but I'm not quite done yet,

Can only move forward, not stuck on regret.

People will always come and go down here,

Told to keep our head down and persevere.

Everything is energy, most are feeling drained,

By our actions these souls become red stained.

Never been fucking others over to get ahead,

Would rather go down the honest route instead.

    Good write SM.

      Thanks pal.

A sensible bit from me! In a way, we don't have to 'try' to be good, if we trust to the Holy Spirit, within each Christian. Though, of course, WE ourselves have to actually DO the good deeds and SAY the good words. Not that the Spirit controls us like we're some robot or puppet controlled by programmes or by strings.
What's that got to do with E.T? Does he have a will? heehee.

Completely agree, knew you would throw E.T. in somewhere lol.

A poem of reflection on one's nature and its sense of value. Well written

Shaun, this feels grounded and unapologetic. It owns imperfection without surrendering integrity. There’s resolve here that doesn’t need to shout. Well done!🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
