She watched him sleeping, wondering
When did she stop loving him
Was it gradual
Did she ever love him
Could she love another
Her mind was made up
She would leave tomorrow
He watched her sleeping, wondering
Placing the pillow over her face
Did he ever love her.

Good write P. I thought you was leaving us poets for a moment there. Noooo, you don't mean YOU yourself are going! lol.
They've not caught me yet. lol
Dark and a matter of cosmic timing where decisions come too late. Well written so much in so little truly poetic a fave
She sure wasn't leaving.
Not in the way intended I suppose
Well written,Your revolves around a couple reflecting on their relationship while one partner is asleep. The poet contemplates their waning feelings and the possibility of leaving, while the other partner questions their past love and the nature of their bond.
Sure was an unhappy ending for one.
A dark spin with this brevity... An eye opener of sorts too. We can be vulnerable to give our love away, but are we safe doing so? Great words put together here .. 🙂
You sure don't want to be sleeping beside this guy.
Talk about a real life terror. Geezo
Paul, this is chilling in its restraint. The quiet tone makes the turn hit harder, and the emotional drop is immediate. It leaves a cold echo behind. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Wonder how many times it happens out there.
I know. Me too.
Could there be relief at any outcome once a certain point in relationships has been reached? Intense 🕊️🙏🏻
Sure was the end of the line for this one.
