Goodbye My Friends

Friendship

Goodbye My Friends

The hourglass has spilled its sand,
And dawn now gilds a distant land.
I stand where paths diverge and bend—
Goodbye, my friends, my truest kin, my kind.

We walked beneath the summer trees,
Our laughter caught in evening breeze,
Shared secrets deep as ocean floors,
And weathered life behind closed doors.

We danced in storms, we kissed the rain,
Through joy and sorrow, loss and gain.
Each memory, a star alight—
Guiding me through coming night.

I do not go without a tear,
Nor leave without a weight of fear.
For parting is a silent ache,
A heart that trembles, yet must break.

No grand farewell, no trumpet's cry,
Just whispered words beneath the sky:
Though miles may stretch and years may bend,
You live with me—my soul, my friend.

So let the wind carry my name,
And stars recall our shared acclaim.
Though roads now pull us far apart,
You're etched within my beating heart.

Goodbye, my friends, this is not "the end"—
Only a turn, a journey's bend.
Wherever life may take us then,
I'll meet you in the light again.

A poem of farewell that is sad and at the same time hopeful. It thanks and bids adieu but leaves the door open. As if a traveler saying good bye it implies a future meeting. Well done my friend

I hope this doesn’t mean your leaving!
