Crying over a boy

Rachel Poole

I remember thinking how sweet and kind and thoughtful it was of you to be a friend to that beautiful girl, who was crying over a boy.

But it became very apparent that you weren’t just comforting that beautiful girl, who was crying over a boy…

You actually wanted to be the next boy for that beautiful girl.

You did it right in front of me like I didn’t matter to you…

But you made me feel like I did matter, so I never even thought about you and that beautiful girl, who was crying over a boy.

Silly me… Then, for not seeing the truth about you wanting that beautiful girl, who was crying over a boy.

Silly me… Now, because every time I see that beautiful girl, who was crying over a boy, all I think about is how much you mattered to me-

But I did not matter.

Not to you.

Unrequited love more common than one would think where nature provides no link. A good write

I would say you've dodged a bullet, cos that girl will be replaced by another crying girl.
Good lesson in the love game mind you, gives you more scope to play.

well written.your poem revolves around unrequited love and the pain of feeling overlooked in a relationship. It explores themes of jealousy, betrayal, and self-realization, highlighting the emotional turmoil of being in love with someone who is more interested in another person. I love your writing; you speak from your heart.
