Hey Hey Hey, Don't Leave

Alex PB

Notice of absence from Alex PB
Writin' more and more poems is my job,
I shall write when Shakespeare is back.

Hey hey hey,

It's me, it's me, it's you,

And you're wanting to leave without asking me?

Hey hey hey,

Is it a country? A job? Work related? Back problems?

And you're wanting to leave without asking me?

Hey hey hey,

Is it me? Is it you? Is it us?

Your cousin wouldn't tell me anything,

Hey hey hey,

Why do words of pain come out your mouth?

And why do I feel bad about them?

Hey hey hey...

You seem insulting..

I didn't know you were hurting like that,

How could I know you didn't feel safe?

Hey hey hey..

I liked your shirt, I sleep in it,

But it seems you're annoyed I didn't send you a photo of me wearing it,

Hey hey..

Why do you say I made it tough for you to be vulnerable?

I was going through a lot, I can't manage everything,

Hey hey..

I didn't know you loved so deeply,

How could I know if I asked you to show it?

Hey hey..

Think of me and my pain,

Think of me if you'll be truly gone,

Hey..

You want to leave and I never asked you,

Are you okay?

A poetic letter that reflects a relationship of concern and a call for communication. Lovely
